Who are Play Savers?

As Play savers, we believe that play is a vital human need from childhood through adulthood. Through evidence-based workshops and resources, we help educators create playful learning environments and support adults in rediscovering play as a source of restoration, joy, and cognitive vitality.

We are saving play by protecting children's right to authentic, self-directed play experiences. We are saving play for educators by helping them rediscover playfulness as both a teaching tool and a path to professional wellness. We are saving play for adults by challenging the notion that play is frivolous. Instead, we champion play as essential for creativity, mental health, and meaningful connection throughout life.

What does being a Play Saver mean?

  • For children: Preserving opportunities for self-active, open-ended play in an increasingly structured world

  • For educators: Recognizing that being a playful educator enhances both student learning and your own professional vitality

  • For adults: Restoring play's rightful place in grown-up life as a pathway to resilience, creativity, and wellbeing
